Critical Crash Triage for Plaintiff Firms | Nexus Legal Group

October 6, 2026 Nexus Legal Group

How firms can organize attorney review, internal intake, and optional processing support around RTCAT™ critical-crash records.

Critical events need defined ownership

When a serious event appears, uncertainty can slow the response. Who reviews it first? What facts matter immediately? How are conflicts checked? Which events should be escalated to a partner? When is an event ready for consumer contact or intake follow-up?

A written triage plan answers those questions before volume arrives. It allows a firm to separate immediate attorney tasks from operational intake tasks and to make sure important events do not disappear into a general queue.

Build priority categories

A firm can establish categories based on commercial involvement, apparent severity, location, defendant type, carrier or USDOT indicators, fatal-event signals, or practice-area fit. Priority-one events may go directly to a designated attorney. Other records may enter internal intake or, where selected, a Nexus-supported workflow.

The purpose is not to decide legal merit from a data record alone. It is to decide how quickly the firm needs to look at an event and which team should handle the next operational step.

Use external capacity selectively

Nexus can provide a flexible layer around records the firm elects to submit. That may include live contact, screening, scheduling, intake documentation, consumer-requested legal-information routing, and administrative document support.

The firm can use outside capacity to prevent operational workload from crowding out attorney assessment. It can also reserve internal resources for the events that matter most to its strategy.

Conclusion

A critical-crash triage plan converts early visibility into disciplined action. It also makes it easier to decide when a Nexus processing module can create operational leverage.
